about

ARTIST'S NOTES
"This EP describe about the culture of small port on the estuary of the Ciliwung River around the early 16th century CE. The soundscape in this EP is the result of acculturation between the Indianized kingdom of Tarumanegara, the Hindu Kingdom of Sunda, the Muslim Sultanate of Banten, the Dutch East Indies, the Empire of Japan, during the colonial era. The concept of this EP is combining sounds that forms or arises from an immersive environment with the ambient piano."

LABEL NOTES
The Kiriks (one Dani Satria) stands out from fellow Indonesian electro/ambient geniuses – Strange Mountain, Yours Fantom Delivering, Duck Dive, etc. – with a more understated, raw, mind-wringing monophonic aesthetic. It's briefly but proudly on display here, centered heavily on what seem like folk songs captured in more ancient times.

Curiously, this EP has also been issued (digitally) as "Kisah Jalan Jaksa," through the Ear Alert netlabel – earalertrecords.blogspot.dk/2015/06/ear575859-kiriks-kisah-jalan-jaksa-theo.html
